After 15 years as repairman for the country's biggest dealers, I've probably done every type of repair there is, several times over. Broken headstocks, new necks and bodies, fronts, backs and sides on acoustics, including archtops, neck resets, re-wiring, re-finishing, and much more. The neck of this 1958 Hofner Committee was damaged beyond repair.
Someone had bodged a neck-reset and had broken a big piece of the heel, then fixed it back with an enormous woodscrew, and the laminations had separated. I made a new neck and fitted the original fingerboard and headstock facing. Good as new.
